How-to Guide
To insert an image into your message, it will need to be uploaded into the Files & Images Manager. After that, it is a matter of deciding how and where in your message you wish to add this image.
Here is a list of what we will be covering in this guide (click to skip ahead):
- Inserting Images Using an Image Component
- Inserting Images Inside a Text Component
- What size should my image be
- Add social media icons to an email (this goes to a separate article)
Inserting Images Using an Image Component
An image component is perfect for when you wish to add stand alone images into your message. You can place an image component across the width of the message, have one sitting next to (or between) various other components, or have a few image components side by side.
- Select Messages from the sidebar.
- Open your desired email message for editing, or create a new one.
- Drag an Image component (from the component selector at the left side) into your email design. You can also place it above, below or next to an existing component. As you do this, be sure to keep an eye on the placement indicator - so that you know where your component will be positioned.
If you drag the component to the left or the right of an existing one, that section will be split into 2 columns. If the position was not correct, simply re-select the component in your email design and drag it to the desired spot. - Double-click on the image placeholder.
- The Files & Images manager will open. Select the correct folder and image you wish to add to your email. Click to select the image. This will add the image to your message.
-
Use the Settings tab to the left to set the ALT text, link, margin, padding and other settings for the image.
To change an existing image, simply double-click on it and select its replacement from the Files & Images manager.
Inserting Images Inside a Text Component
This method is useful for adding small images within a text area. You can add multiple images into a single text component, but watch the spacing - as they may cluster together and display oddly on a smaller screen, such as a mobile phone.
If you need to place multiple images next to each other, we recommend dragging multiple image components next to one another to form multiple columns.
- Select Messages from the sidebar.
- Open your desired email message for editing, or create a new one.
- Double-click on your text component to go into edit mode.
- Place your cursor in your email where you would like to insert the image and click the icon from the floating tool bar (as shown). The Files & Images manager will open.
- Select the file you'd like to use (you can also upload your image into the Files & Images manager from your computer, by using the button provided) and click .
- Set the alignment of the image (if you want it running next to text, choose absmiddle for the alignment) and click . You can also set the ALT text for the image here too.
- The image will be inserted wherever you had your cursor positioned, prior to insertion.
