Previewing a message is a great way to see how it will look on most desktop and mobile devices, with wildcards and conditional content being 'rendered' to give an accurate preview of these personalisations, if your message uses these.
The preview function is a best-case render of your message, noting that some email clients don't support certain design elements. To get a true understanding of how your email will look in other email clients, we recommend testing your design with our Litmus Inbox Preview tool or review our email design best practices.
How-to Guide
While there are several ways to preview a message, here's one of the more popular methods...
- Select Messages from the sidebar.
- Click next to the message you'd like to preview.
- Select Preview from the dropdown menu. A popup window will appear, showing your message preview. Use the options provided to switch your contact list, flick between your contacts (to test any wildcards and conditional content blocks, if in use), run a spam check, switch between desktop and mobile previews, and locate the 'View Online' link for the message.
