A personalised message will always perform better than a generic one; which is why we've built our platform with dynamic content in mind. As such, there are several key ways you can create dynamic content in our platform, which we've outlined below.
Personalisation Methods
Wildcards
Wildcards are available in both email & SMS messages and allow you to insert information from your contact list into the message being received by those contacts; things like their first name, address, their loyalty program tier and so on. Essentially, any field of data you have against their record. Wildcards can also display a fallback word or phrase, in instances where a particular contact has no data in the wildcarded field.
Wildcards can be entered into your raw HTML email code (if designing emails outside of our platform), or via a button in our email & SMS message editors.

Conditional Content
Conditional Content is available in email messages and allows you to hide / show / change entire blocks of content (components) in your email based on things you know about your contacts. For example, your bakery email could display a different header graphic, CTA button or entire article if the contact is gluten free - or a different phone number if your contact is overseas.
A Conditional Content component also has a 'default' state - which displays if the contact meets none of the set criteria. In essence, a type of 'fallback'. Conditional Content can be configured on a component-by-component basis via a panel in our email editor.

Advanced Conditional Wildcards
Advanced Conditional Wildcards are available in both email & SMS messages and, as the name suggests, is an advanced wildcard that allows you to dynamically display different information, but also have conditions attached to it through logic flags such as HAS, HASNOT, CONTAINS, NOTCONTAINS, IF/ELSE and so on.
With the power of Advanced Conditional Wildcards, you can do some pretty amazing personalisation - for example, display a high-value discount code if a contact lives near one of your stores, but only if they have visited X times in the last month and have spent more than $XX - but then display a lesser-value discount code if the contact doesn't meet all of this criteria.
Advanced Conditional Wildcards can be entered into your raw HTML email code (if designing emails outside of our platform), or by simply typing / pasting them into your SMS or email design in the respective message editors within our platform.
