Our platform supports two event types; those pulled-in via our Eventbrite integration and well those made directly within our platform. You can explore the differences via our Events overview page.
In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of creating an event reminder series (for either event type), using an automation.
If you're looking for a more advanced events workflow with contact filtering, refer to our automation example for building an advanced pre- and post-event comms workflow.
How-to Guide
For Events Created in Our Platform
Creating an event reminder series using this method won't automatically 'link' these messages to your selected event. In other words, if you were to view this event (using the Events option in the sidebar), you won't see any of these messages there.
- Select Automations from the sidebar.
- Click .
- Next to the Event reminders option, select .
- Select your desired Marketing Event from the popup dialog.
- Click . Your new event automation will be created - with a series of email and SMS automation steps created for you automatically.
- If you need to review the timing or specifics of any of the automatically-created automation steps, click (edit) icon next to the relevant automation step to edit it. You can also review which messages are being sent and when.
- Once you're good to go, activate the automation step(s) by turning the toggle to
. The automation will now run for any applicable contacts and send out the relevant emails and / or SMS's when triggered as per the active automation steps.
For Eventbrite Events
- Select Automations from the sidebar.
- Click .
- Next to the Eventbrite event reminders option, select .
- Select your desired Eventbrite Event from the popup dialog. If your Eventbrite event is a recurring event, or if it has multiple dates & times attached to it (ie. an 'event series'), you will be able to select whether the automation should apply to all event dates in the series or just the one you select from the dropdown.
- Once chosen, click . Your new Eventbrite event automation will be created - with a series of email and SMS automation steps created for you automatically.
- If you need to review the timing or specifics of any of the automatically-created automation steps, click the (edit) icon next to the relevant automation step to edit it. You can also review which messages are being sent and when.
- Once you're good to go, activate the automation step(s) by turning the toggle to
. The automation will now run for any applicable contacts and send out the relevant emails and / or SMS's when triggered as per the active automation steps.
