The Advanced Search tool is handy if you're looking for contacts that match specific criteria. Below, we've included a range of common advanced searches and the fields used to achieve the desired result - so that you can get an understanding of what fields and operators to use.

Advanced Search Examples
- Search for contacts who have 'Sam' in their first name field:
First name > Contains > Sam (this would show names like Sam, Isamel, Husam) - Search for contacts who's first name field begins with 'Sam':
First name > Starts with > Sam (this would show names like Sam - but not Isamel or Husam) - Search for contacts who's first name field ends with 'Sam':
First name > Ends with > Sam (this would show names like Sam, Husam - but not Isamel) - Search for contacts who's first name field does not contain 'Sam':
First name > Does not contain > Sam - Search for contacts who's first name field contains only 'Sam' (and no variation on that):
First name > Equal to > Sam - Search for contacts with no data in the first name field:
First name > Is empty > Yes - Search for contacts with an Australian Government email address:
Email address > Contains > .gov.au - Search for email addresses that aren't under the Australian Government domain:
Email address > Does not contain > .gov.au - Search for inactive (deactivated) contacts :
Activation Status > Is > Inactive - Search for unsubscribed contacts:
Subscribed > Is > No
Remove Deactivated, Bounced or Unsubscribed Contacts. - Search for contacts added after a certain date:
Date Added >After > [select date] - Search for contacts that did received a certain email (by message name):
Specific email sent (search by Name) > Has been sent > [select email] - Search for contacts that did not received a certain email (by message name):
Specific email sent (search by Name) > Has not been sent > [select email]
