From time to time, you may need to add a new field - or edit an existing one.
Lists and forms share the same fields - so if you add / edit / delete a field on a form, it will also adjust when you go and view the fields for the corresponding list (the reverse is also true).
Field Types
- Text - A standard text field with a limit of 255 characters.
- Password - This field is used if you wish to add a security field on your Update Profile or Preferences login form.
- Currency - Typically used for collecting pricing information.
- Number - Used to collect ages, quantities, etc. You can select a decimal option on this field, if desired.
- Dropdown - Allow the user to select from one of many options. Similar to a radio button field, but is more compact as the options are displayed within the dropdown.
- Date / Date Picker - Allows selection of an arbitrary date, with an optional time component. Great for setting up an automated message send based on a date field.
Automating Happy Birthday Messages - Radio Buttons - Best used for representing a set of options, only one of which can be selected at any time. Similar to a dropdown field, but takes up more space as all options are displayed to the user.
- Checkbox - Best used for representing a set of options where the end user can select as many or as few as they wish.
- Comment - Similar to a text field, but with no character limit; great for collecting comments.
- File Upload - Allows the end user to upload files. Perfect for collection of images, documents, etc.

How-to Guide
The various tasks below can be performed via either the forms or contacts (via Spreadsheet View) areas of our platform. In this guide, we'll use the forms section.
Add a New Field to a Form or List
- Select Lists and Forms from the sidebar.
- Your lists will be shown. Locate the list you'd like to work with, and double-click on it to open it into Forms view.
- On the right hand side, you'll see a list of current fields. Click .
- Select your desired field type (refer to the Field Types section above for details), setup the name and configure any options for the field.
- When finished, click .
- By default, the field you just created will appear on the form you were editing. To remove it from the form, click the 👁️ icon next to the field name on the right hand side, as shown.
- Click to close the form editor.
Edit a Field
- Select Lists and Forms from the sidebar.
- Your lists will be shown. Locate the list you'd like to work with, and click on it to open it into Forms view.
- On the right hand side, you'll see a list of current fields. Click the pencil icon next to the field you wish to edit, as shown.
- Select your desired field type (refer to the Field Types section above for details), setup the field name, field display name (shown to the user on the form; if different from the field name) and configure any other options for the field.
If you've turned on the feature to send a notification email whenever someone submits a form, this email will display the field's true name, not the 'Field Display Name' shown to the user on the form. - Here, you will be able to rename the field, convert it to a different field type (only supported for some field types), change default values, etc.
- When finished, click .
- Click to close the form editor.
Delete a Field
If you delete a field, you will also be deleting all data stored in this field in your contact list!
- Select Lists and Forms from the sidebar.
- Your lists will be shown. Locate the list you'd like to work with, and click on it to open it into Forms view.
- On the right hand side, you'll see a list of current fields. Click the bin icon next to the field you wish to delete, as shown.
- If you're sure you wish to remove the field, confirm the deletion. Your field will now be removed from your list, as well as any data stored inside the field for any contacts on this list.
- Click to close the form editor.
