Nifty Images is one of several third-party platform that makes it easy to use personalised images and countdown timers in your emails.
As part of this guide, we'll show you how to setup a sample image using a Nifty Images trial account - but be sure to read their terms & conditions, as you may need to move to a paid plan with Nifty Images before doing a real send.
Creating a Personalised Image
- Visit the Nifty Images website, and create an account.
- Once logged in, click .
- Click Personalised Image.
- Click on the image template you'd like to use - you can also use the dropdown provided to choose a different category.
You can also upload a custom image into Nifty Images if you prefer.
- After you have chosen a template, you will be taken to the template editor where you can start customising it. Now we can customise what the image says & make any changes to the text, as required.
Be sure to keep the Nifty Images placeholder text intact - as this is where our variable will go (eg: "FIRSTNAME").
- Once you have customised your image template, click and give it a name.
- You will now be presented with HTML code for your image. Click .
- From the dropdown, select Vision6 and click . The HTML code on screen will now be updated to the correct format for our platform.
- Copy the HTML code snippet.
- Back in our email marketing platform, open up the message you're working on. Double click inside a text area or click , so it enters edit mode.
- On the floating toolbar, click the icon. This will open up the HTML (source code) for that text area. This is where you can paste in the HTML snippet you copied out of your Nifty Images account just previously.
- Once pasted, click
Creating a Countdown Timer with a Preset Date
- Visit the Nifty Images website, and create an account.
- Once logged in, click .
- Click Countdown Timer.
- Click on the countdown timer template you'd like to use.
- After you have chosen a template, you will be taken to the template editor where you can start customising it. Now we can customise the timer's colours, fonts and other options including the Event Date, Event Time and Timezone options as to when your event is taking place.
- Once you have customised your image template, click and give it a name.
- Copy the HTML code snippet.
- Back in our email marketing platform, open up the message you're working on. Double click inside a text area or click , so it enters edit mode.
- On the floating toolbar, click the icon. This will open up the HTML (source code) for that text area. This is where you can paste in the HTML snippet you copied out of your Nifty Images account just previously.
- Once pasted, click
Creating a Countdown Timer with a Dynamic Date
- Visit the Nifty Images website, and create an account.
- Once logged in, click .
- Click Countdown Timer.
- Click on the countdown timer template you'd like to use.
- After you have chosen a template, you will be taken to the template editor where you can start customising it. Now we can customise the timer's colours, fonts and other options. For now, leave the Event Date, Event Time and Timezone options as-is; we can replace these with a dynamic date in a moment.
- Once you have customised your image template, click and give it a name.
- You will now be presented with HTML code for your image. Click .
- From the options presented, click Email Merge Tag to enable it.
- Scroll back up & select the Using Your Nifty Image tab.
- Copy the HTML code snippet.
- Back in our email marketing platform, open up the message you're working on. Double click inside a text area or click , so it enters edit mode.
- On the floating toolbar, click the icon. This will open up the HTML (source code) for that text area. This is where you can paste in the HTML snippet you copied out of your Nifty Images account just previously.
- In the HTML code, replace the text DYNAMIC_DATE with your wildcard for the date field. So in other words, if you have a date field on your contact list called Membership Renewal, then the wildcard for this would be %%membership_renewal%%.
- Once you're all done, click .Your message containing your dynamic countdown timer is now ready to preview & test.
