Details
When conducting an email send, you may notice that the number of recipients is sometimes less than the size of your list. In general, this is due to one or more of the following reasons:
- The list being sent to contains deactivated (bounced) contacts
- The list being sent to contains unsubscribed contacts
- The list being sent to contains contacts that are on your block list
- The list being sent to contains contacts without an email address (or with an invalid email address)
- The list being sent to contains duplicate contacts
- The list being sent to was segmented during the send process
In this guide, we'll show you how to search your list for these contacts; though we do have a separate article on removing these types of contacts from your list - as per the link below.
Remove Deactivated, Bounced or Unsubscribed Contacts

Locate Duplicate Contacts
It is also possible that there may be some contacts in the list who are duplicates. Here's how to check...
- Select Contacts from the sidebar.
- Click the Duplicates tab.
- Select the folder and list you wish to check for duplicates. Your duplicates are now shown.
The default field used to look for contacts is the Email field - but you can change this using the options provided on-screen.
