Looking to create a button for your email message and found that the look of our default buttons are not quite right for you? Maybe you have strict corporate guidelines to follow and require buttons to be of a certain colour or shape?
Let's take a look at creating your own button using the built-in image editor.
We also have an article on creating buttons using a third-party application such as Microsoft Paint.
How-to Guide
- Begin by downloading our transparent image (transparent-image.png). Save it to a safe place, such as your desktop. We recommend right-clicking on the link above, then selecting the option to Save Link / Save Target. This will force the file to download, as opposed to opening in your web browser.
- Next up, log into our email & SMS marketing platform and select Files and Images from the sidebar. The Files & Images manager will now open.
- Click . A file browser dialog will open.
- Browse to the location where you saved the image file from Step 1. Select the transparent-image.png file and upload it into the platform.
- Locate your newly-imported image and click .
- Select Edit from the pop down menu. The image editor will now launch.
- Click the Shapes tool in the image editor toolbar, then the Rectangle tool.
- A new shape will now appear on the editor's canvas. With the shape selected, use the handles along the edges to adjust the width and height of your rectangle.
- When done, click .
- Select the Colour tool and adjust the shape's colours as required.
- When done, click .
- To add text to your button, click the Text icon on the toolbar.
- Choose a colour, set the font, then click Add Text.
- A new text layer will be created. Double-click inside it to change the text. When done, click outside of the text box.
- Click on the text to drag it around into position over your rectangle. You can also use the corner handles to resize the text layer.
- When done, click .
- If you'd like to add an icon of sorts onto your button, click the Shapes or Stickers tool.
- Browse through the many options available until you find one you like - click on it to insert it on the editor's canvas. Again, use the handles around the sides of the object to resize it and then move it into place as desired.
- When done, click .
- Finally, click the Crop tool.
- Use the handles to crop in so that just your button appears inside the crop area.
- When done, click .
- Click Save As New. The system will now save your new image for you - ready to insert into your email design!
