Connecting your Shopify store to our platform means you can automate repetitive tasks with powerful, personalised automation, stylish templates, and impressive reporting features.
Before you get started, please be aware of the following:
- Your Shopify store must be set up and running before you can connect it to your account.
- After the initial import takes place, our system will continue to keep your customers synchronised with your lists, so that you don't have to worry about importing them prior to your next send.
How-to Guide
Let's take a look at connecting your Shopify store to our platform. Note that this process will require jumping between Shopify and Vision6 a few times! We'll start in Shopify...
- Log into your Shopify store's admin account.
- Go into the ⚙️ Settings section.
- Select Apps and sales channels from the menu.
- Click .
- Select the option to , review the terms and proceed if you agree to again allow custom app development.
- Once the custom app screen loads, click .
- Give the app a name, for example 'Vision6 Integration'.
- Click .
- Click Configuration, then locate the Admin API integration panel.
- Select .
- A list of Admin API access scopes will appear. Enable the following scopes (you can search for these using the search bar on the Shopify screen): read_customers, read_orders, read_products.
Some of the scopes have similar names - so be sure to select only those listed above. - Click .
- At the top-right of the App development screen click
- In a new browser tab, log into your Vision6 account and select Integrations from the sidebar.
- Locate the Shopify integration and press . If it's not visible, please contact our support team.
- Enter your store URL (it'll be shown in the Shopify settings area) - be sure to use the full URL; including the https:// prefix.
- Next, flick back to your Shopify browser tab and reveal, then copy, the Admin API access token.
This token is only shown once. Do not give it to anyone else - it's akin to a password that can give people full access to your Shopify store, so treat it as such. Do not write it down - you will only need it once, in the next step. - In your Vision6 browser tab, paste this into the Admin API access token field.
- Back in Shopify, copy the API secret key from further down the page. Paste it into the relevant field in your Vision6 browser tab. Click .
- Vision6 will now connect to Shopify using the credentials provided. After a few moments, you should see your store name in Vision6, along with some settings for handling contacts. Select whether you wish to save your synchronised Shopify contacts in an existing Vision6, or a new one. There are also some Advanced Options you can select if desired. Finally, select what you wish to do with existing Shopify contacts. When done, click
- After a few moments, the process will finish. Congratulations - your Shopify store is now connected to Vision6! At any time, you can use the icons on the screen to adjust settings, disconnect your store - or setup additional stores.
