Details
Email providers like Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft are introducing new rules to help reduce spam and protect users from scams and phishing. To ensure your emails reach inboxes and not spam folders, each of the email address(es) you send from within Vision6, will need to be verified.
This simple, one-time step improves email deliverability and ensures mailbox validity - which in turn means your messages are trusted and are more likely to be delivered as intended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do we need to verify every email address we send from in Vision6?
A: Yes - each email address you send from within Vision6 will need to be verified before you can continue to use it. If, for example, you use Vision6 to send emails from info@xyz.donuts, as well as caroline.custard.ceo@xyz.donuts, then both of these email addresses will need to be verified.
Q: Why is this now a requirement?
A: As mentioned in the introduction above, email providers are continuously introducing new rules to reduce email spam, scams and phishing attempts. Requiring verification for sender email addresses is in line with almost every other email marketing & communications platforms. It improves deliverability and ensures mailbox validity.
Q: What if we send from many different email addresses in Vision6?
A: Each email address you send from in Vision6 will need to be verified. We also have an interface that allows you to add sender addresses in bulk (you can find more on this in the how-to guide below).
Q: What if we send from wildcarded addresses?
A: Regardless of the address, each email address you send from in Vision6 still needs to be verified. We also have an interface that allows you to add sender addresses in bulk (you can find more on this in the how-to guide below).

A: Both will still need to be verified.
Q: What if we send from a "no-reply" address?
A: Each email address you send from in Vision6 will need to be verified, including "no-reply" addresses (again, email deliverability improves when the email address you send from is a real one). You may wish to create a mailbox for your no-reply address so that you can verify it - or elect to send from a different (real, and verifiable) email address instead.
Q: What if we send from a group mailbox?
A: It will still need to be verified. Anyone who receives the verification email will be able to click the link to verify that email address.
Q: What if we send email messages via the Vision6 API or automations?
A: From address(es) used for API or automation sends still needs to be verified. We have an interface that allows you to add sender addresses in bulk (you can find more on this in the how-to guide below).
Q: Do each of our users need to verify the same from email address(es)?
A: No; it's just one verification per email address, per Vision6 account.
Q: Is this different to verifying our domain?
A: Yes; but both play an important part in ensuring your emails are delivered to the recipients inbox.
Q: Once an email address is verified, does it get re-checked for validity at a later date?
A: No; once an email address is verified, it will remain that way (unless you delete it from our platform).
