In our continual efforts to uphold the highest security standards, our RPC API will no longer support insecure HTTP or TLS 1.0/1.1 connections from December 31, 2021. We recommend letting your developer know about this change to ensure that your account is using the right end point.
What is TLS
Transport Layer Security, or TLS, is a security protocol designed to facilitate privacy and data security for communications over the Internet.
Why are we doing this?
This step makes up part of our SOC2 certification and upcoming ISO 27001 compliance. It also ensures your safety and your clients' safety by reducing vulnerabilities associated with outdated HTTP or TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols.
What do I need to do?
If you are still accessing the RPC API on the URLs /api/jsonrpcserver/ or /api/xmlrpcserver/,
you will be required to change the URL endpoint from your current URL to https://app.vision6.com.au as the new endpoint.
For example, if your endpoint looks like this:
You will need to change it to:
This will need to be actioned before the due date mentioned above - otherwise you will no longer be able to connect via the API. It is also important to ensure that your solution supports TLS 1.2, otherwise your existing calls may fail.
For the RPC API, this URL change is the only one you will need to make. If you are using the REST API, this change is not required.
To ensure a smooth transition to the new endpoint, we recommend testing this first. If you have any questions or feedback, please get in touch with our support team.
