Modify Account Email Footer Follow

Depending on what you would like to achieve, it is possible to modify footers in Corporate and Reseller account structures.

Here is a list of the different ways that this can be done depending on your desired outcome (click to skip ahead):

To modify the footer of your Corporate account or Reseller account (which affects all emails in your account and client's accounts; excepting where a custom footer has been applied to a client's account or specific email):

  1. Log into the head account for your tiered account structure.
  2. Click on the 'Admin' tab.
  3. Select the 'Email Footer' menu option.
  4. Preview the message to copy existing spam compliant links
  5. Untick the 'Use Custom Footer?' checkbox.
  6. Modify the HTML version of the footer as required and adding the spam compliant links back in (NB: It is possible to edit the HTML code of the footer by clicking the 'View HTML Source Code' button).
  7. Modify the text version of the footer (this should be a very close match to the HTML version where possible - eg use the same text, links etc), not doing so may result in the email having an increased risk of being detected as Junk/Spam when delivered.
  8. Click the 'Save' button, located at the bottom right of the plain text footer editor (click on the 'Text Footer' tab to access).
  9. We strongly recommend that a new email be created and test sent to yourself to ensure that the footer renders and contains functional links etc.

To modify the footer of one of your client's accounts, which will affect all emails in that account (excepting any emails which have had their footers specifically modified):

  1. Log into the head account for your tiered account structure.
  2. Click on the 'Admin' tab
  3. Locate the relevant account, select it from the list and then click the 'Edit' on the right.
  4. At the top of the 'Modify Account Details' window which appears, click the 'Edit Footer' button
  5. Modify the footer as required (please refer above for instructions).
  6. After saving the footer, again we strongly suggest subscribing to a database within the account and sending yourself a copy of an email to ensure the footer renders, appears correctly.

To modify the footer of a specific email within your Reseller account, or within one of your client's accounts:

  1. Log into the relevant account.
  2. Navigate to the 'Messages' area of the account.
  3. Locate the email to modify, select it and then select 'Edit Footer' from the actions menu button.
  4. Make the required changes (refer above for instructions).
  5. After saving the changes, again we recommend completing a test send to ensure the footer appears correctly.

Additional Information:

To revert to the default footer when editing the head account footer, or an account wide footer, tick the 'Use Default Footer?' checkbox and then re-save the footer.

Additionally, only Resellers and Corporate Account Administrators are able to modify email footers, your clients are not be able to change their email footers.

Many Resellers charge their clients a fee to modify the email's footers, as changing the footer can take time and the client may also wish to remove the Reseller's logo image etc (meaning a potential loss in Marketing and lead generation).
